Summer with the Youth at Metro Calvary

This summer I was so blessed to be apart of a Jr. High and High School ministry at Metro Calvary. Myself and a couple of others came alongside Travis and Megan Clark who run the youth ministry. It was such a blessing to be able to see and be apart of what God is doing in the lives of the young people at our church. Every Thursday morning we would get together to serve the community in some practical way and then we would spend the afternoon swimming. One week we we able to spend the day out at the lake where the kids were pulled behind a boat in tubes, jumping off the floating trampoline, and of course wakeboarding. We were so blessed to have a missionary family from Brazil join us. Tim and Tolisa and their two children Abraham and Bethany shared the day out at the lake with us and Tim shared with us from the word. It was an encouragement for all of us to hear a testimony of how God has worked in and through their lives to touch the lives of people in Brazil. This High School ministry was so refreshing to be apart of as these young people truly have hearts for Jesus and they are growing in Him. I was so thankful to be able to spend some of my summer with them.

What is an intern anyway?

In just a few short days I will be flying over the Atlantic to a far away land to the familiar castle, down the path from the sheep farm, in a little village known as Vajta. In Vajta I will be serving as an intern for the next year apart of the Calvary Chapel ministry "Reaching Europe." The last four months that I spent in Hungary I was a bible college student where I was able to receive, study, and soak in God's word. In this next year I will be serving practically by leading outreaches throughout Europe, meetings, prayer groups, as well as bible studies. I will live amongst the bible college students as a leader in the dorms, and will participate in the classes as a Teachers Assistant. A large portion of my time will be spent running a practical area of ministry such as house keeping or the coffee shop. Basically an intern is someone who is a student in the ministry. The eight other interns and I are given opportunities to minister to the students as well as serve in running the practical side of the ministry. I am so thankful for the opportunity to learn, serve, and grow in this next year and I look forward to being apart of what God is doing in Hungary.
